Fatal Car Accident Georgia Today – CLAYTON COUNTY, GA. – A driver trying to get away from police is believed to have caused a fatal four-vehicle crash that closed all lanes of southbound Interstate 675 in Clayton County Wednesday morning.
Authorities say a Clayton County officer who was returning home around 1 p.m. 6:08 p.m. on I-675 south, noticed a vehicle in the grass median with its lights still on.

After the officer turned around and pulled over, he noticed that the driver had passed out behind the wheel. The officer knocked on the window and woke the driver. The officer noticed that the driver appeared drowsy, glassy and sweating.

After asking the driver to open the car door, officers pulled the driver over and drove in the wrong direction in the southbound lanes. The officer ran back to the vehicle to follow and found the accident a mile away.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the crash and saw several police stations with vehicles blocking the road and officers setting up tape and tarps to overcome the scene.
At this time, investigators say it is unclear if the driver was impaired or had a medical emergency, but they believe he was at fault in the fatal crash.
Another driver involved in the accident succumbed to injuries. Police have not released any details about the condition or the identities of the other people involved.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – At least two people died in a crash that closed lanes on I-95 in Camden County, the Georgia State Patrol said. At least 12 others were hospitalized for injuries, a UF health spokeswoman said.
The crash is on I-95 Southbound. Thus Virg. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed, according to News 6 partner WJXT.

Eight people died Wednesday when the driver of a car suspected of fleeing from a police transit vehicle crashed into an oncoming vehicle on a south Texas highway.
The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. it happened when the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic attempted to pass Sheriff Zavala County and attempted to run over a police officer, the state Department of Public Safety said. The Civic collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, which caught fire.

According to DPS, everyone in both vehicles was killed. It included a 21-year-old urban driver, who was from Houston, and his five passengers. Some of the passengers were from Honduras, spokesman Christopher Olivarez said in a statement. The two men were on the Georgia equinox.
It was unclear how fast the vehicles were going, but photographs taken by the police show both were deleted and most of them were burned at the scene.

Killed In Thanksgiving Day Crash In Colquitt County
CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga – Four people were killed in a crash Friday afternoon that shut down I-95 in Camden County, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Several others were hospitalized for injuries, a UF spokesman said.
The accident occurred on I-95 southbound on St. Sic Virg. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed at one point. All tracks a little before 9 p.m.
The crash happened near the Georgia Welcome Center around 2:30 p.m. It involved two semi-trucks and several cars.
According to the police, the driver of the international truck is suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

An International semi was on the southbound highway and collided with a Nissan Armada. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which began to overturn and struck the Chevrolet Silverado, causing the truck to cross the median and cross into the northbound lanes of 1-95. The semi then struck a Nissan Xterra, a Honda Pilot and a black Peterbilt truck before coming to rest on Northbound I-95.
The two occupants of the International semi died at the scene and the driver was taken to UF Health. Two passengers from the Honda Pilot died after being taken to hospital.
The accident is still being investigated. The name of the driver and the victim have not yet been released.
Nearby Naval Station Kings Bay provided support and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the support efforts.

Traffic, which was diverted on the highway near US 17, was slow as crews worked to clear the scene.
