Family Health Center of Southwest Florida is hiring to fill dozens of open positions, including receptionist and physician assistant positions. They opened a new facility in Fort Myers and needed to hire staff at that facility and fill vacancies elsewhere.
“We are currently looking for medical assistants, dental assistants, medical assistants, dental assistants, support staff,” said Dave Koster, the company’s director of human resources.
The private, not-for-profit, federally qualified medical center on Summer Ridge Lane is one of 32 company facilities in Southwest Florida. It is expected to open in the middle of July.
The company’s mission is to provide high quality healthcare to all. Many health care services will be housed in the new facility.
Health Care Resources Across Southwest Florida
“It’s going to have a pediatric office where we’re at. It’s also going to have a lab, women’s health offices that provide prenatal care, as well as women’s services, dental offices and meeting rooms. We’re also going to have social services and chronic disease. We’re going to have management here for our patients,” Koster told Fox 4.
Before opening the new facility, they had to find the staff to operate it. Koester said the medical assistant at Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida is very busy.
“Medical assistants examine patients, see their chief complaints, support doctors and specialists in the medical record,” he said. Injections and vaccines are given.
Koester says that if you don’t have experience, Southwest Florida Family Health Center offers training programs to help you take the certification exam and advance your career.
