Premier Credit Union Des Moines Ia – The Premier Credit Union Urbandale Branch is a 3,200-square-foot financial building that houses the credit union’s transaction and office space. The project was delivered through a design-build approach by Simonson Architects.
This project, like many others at the time, faced many challenges during the construction process, including property procurement and final floor plans, as well as utility and facilities coordination with the City of Urbandale. Additionally, the project was planned and undertaken for the predictable 2022 construction market. A thorough evaluation was performed to determine the best materials and construction methods that would provide the greatest value for the project budget. As part of the process, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation to compare the use of steel or wood framing. Therefore, a wood frame structure was determined to be the most economical and time-efficient for the project.

While spending most of the project in winter work, Graham managed to overcome one of the major obstacles in the work, completing the entire project in six months.
