Lincoln Lawyer Motorcycle Gang – If you’ve read my Sucker Punch review, you know a little about Oahu and all the fun things you can do there. In fact, we had so much fun in the rain and no surf that we decided to go to the movies on our last day off…again, only this time we had to walk 3 miles to get there and we were running late and it was hot outside. Who would have thought that three t-shirt guys moving around would get so many claps and screams? That’s right. Hawaii thinks I’m hot.
Arriving at the cinema burnt and drenched in sweat, and informed by the manager that there is no dress code at that establishment, we settled in for a great but largely forgettable thriller. And I think this review will end like this: exciting!…or unforgettable. One, then another.

Lincoln Lawyer Motorcycle Gang
Anyway, I don’t remember how the movie started, but I do remember that the lawyer Mick Haller (Matthew McConaughey) was a great character who needed to succeed. Charming and slippery in all the right places. He hires a guy who pretends to be a reporter and then convinces him not to film so as not to upset his client. To the best of the customer’s knowledge, Haller has full control over all operators. Unbelievable! Haller loves his daughter and gets along well with his ex-wife and biker gang friends, and damn, what a handsome guy McConaughey is.

Despite all that, he’s not quite the level of lawyer Tom Cruise from A Few Good Men, which I finally got to see last night. I can’t believe it took me this long to come to grips with the truth! I’ve been waiting for this for so long. Anyway, The Lincoln Lawyer is a much sillier beach read, but it works well with what it has. The emotional intensity rises as not only does the courtroom become unsettling, but real danger begins to emerge outside the office as people are killed and Haller’s life is shrouded in mystery.
There are many twists and turns, to the point where the person sitting next to you is panting and screaming in fear and excitement the entire time. The twists and turns were quite unexpected, the performance never got in the way and the pressure was always there.
I had a great time and if I were a betting man you will too. However, there were some problems. For example, ex-wife: completely unnecessary. I’m sure she’s a relevant character in the book, but she doesn’t really add anything to the movie, thematically or story-wise. In my opinion, they should have just cut it off and found another way to scare Haller instead of relying on threats from a family he has tenuous ties to at best.
Oh, and there was an embarrassing display of merchandise that was annoying and offensive. When Haller brings his daughter home from a date with her father, she’s holding a bright red bag of AMC popcorn, followed by a scene between Haller and his ex-wife’s conversation, and the first thing the wife says: Who knew 3D movies could be like this fun?!?! in that exaggerated “it’s an ad” voice that reminded me of my wife on The Truman Show. Why advertise AMC to people who already go to the movies? It reminds me of how the trailers used to have “Don’t download movies” messages. Preaching to the choir, man, preach to the damn choir.
The Jaw Dropping Fate Of Cisco In The Lincoln Lawyer’s Books!
Finally, on the contrary, this film has no ending. The evidence against the bad guy starts to pile up, Haller gets really weird, and you can’t wait for Haller to kick some ass in court and lock up Mr. Bad for life, but instead a supporting character shows up. says everything was fine. There is absolutely no catharsis. Your emotions are pent up…and stay that way. This is especially evident in the final scene, when the biker gang pulls up to Haller’s car and you fear they will betray and kill him. You know something terrible is going to happen, otherwise why would there be this scene? I mean, there’s at least 15 minutes left in the movie, right? WRONG! He finished. All bikers are friendly and unfriendly.
Thrilling throughout but nothing new and that bad ending left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Also, don’t watch the trailer. This reveals one of the twists, and while it’s not the most amazing twist, it’s definitely an important one. Who plays Cisco in The Lincoln Lawyer and will he die as Season 2 Episode 1 raises the stakes for Mickey and his inner circle?
