Jukebox Repair Kansas City Mo – John Bellot’s love for jukeboxes dates back to 1968, when he was just 8 years old. He and his twin brother Joseph were born and raised in Telford, Pennsylvania. For as long as he can remember, his father has taken him fishing on Saturdays. On fishing trips, he would go to the bar and order a burger and fries. While eating his cheeseburger, John noticed the jukebox in the corner of the bar. He would ask, “Dad, can you give me 25 cents?” His father would reach into his pocket and give him some money to play music.

John was totally blown away by that jukebox. All the lights, all the glass, all the chrome – “It blew me away,” John said. A quarter gives you three plays, and he always chooses Lynn Anderson’s “Rose Garden.” “Whenever I go to a restaurant or bar, I look for that song,” John said. This song makes me want a jukebox. “

John once told his mother, “One day when I grow up, I’m going to have my own jukebox.” Today, he is the proud owner of a 1952 Seeburg and a 1954 Seeburg. Both Seebergs have undergone a first-level restoration, which means they have been fully highlighted. Everything has been rechromed, repainted and refinished. This speaker is designed to deliver a completely new sound.

The gem of his collection is a 1948 Wurlitzer 1100, currently being restored. John explains, “This is the holy grail of all jukeboxes. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful jukebox ever made.” John plans to put his late wife Heather’s wedding ring into this jukebox in her honor.

Each jukebox restoration was completed by Robert Johnson of Roseville, Illinois. Robert has been a professional restorer for nearly 25 years and as John says, “He’s the best in the business!” John met Robert in 2008 at the largest jukebox show in the country at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Louis. Charles, Illinois.

At the time, John could barely contain his excitement for the show – he was in “jukebox heaven”! They had a jukebox, slot machines and pinball machines – coin-operated machines from the 1950s. After visiting Robert’s stall, John took his business card and bought a 1952 Seeberg from him later that year. To explain why this jukebox is so special, John recalled the TV show Happy Days. “Arthur Fonzarelli used to go to Arnold’s Burgers and hit the jukebox with his fist and it would start playing.” The machine in “Happy Days” was the same one he purchased from Robert Johnson of the same model.

When not in use, these jukeboxes are stored in custom covers handcrafted by seamstresses. Thanks to the great care that was taken in restoring and preserving the collection, they look like new – just like they did in the 1950s. After the jukebox was restored, it looked even better than when it was first built.

In addition to the jukebox, John has a collection of 1950s memorabilia such as an ice cream scoop, a large 1948 Seeberg teardrop speaker, small die-cast cars, records, and more. Speaking of the decade, he said: “Everything was great in the 1950s! I always tell my mother that I was born very late. If I had been born in the 1950s, I would have been very happy.”
