When Doug and Tabitha move from their home on Redwood Avenue, Boulder, they will definitely miss their neighborhood. Doug says, “Obviously the open space and great views at the base of the mountain are the best part, but the proximity to other Boulder amenities spoils us. Within a short one block walk we have a great coffee shop, bakery, grocery store, dry cleaning and wine shop!

Of their home, Doug will miss: “The way the view from the wide glass and back windows connects you with nature. It can’t be replicated and you’ll never tire of that view.”
The entire house is beautiful, and the rear outdoor area is one of our favorite features. “When we bought the house, it was newly built, so the yard was just dirt and weeds. We hired a landscape designer to help us create a beautiful outdoor living space that transitioned from the modern lines of the house to organic warmth. Open spaces and grass fields and you can enjoy the view over the stunning night sky from the stainless steel spa or fireplace.” Let’s just say the landscape architect did a fantastic job with the transition from modern home to organic living.

Another of Doug’s favorite features of the home is the open floor plan on the main level. “(It) works great for everyday living. You can cook, eat, entertain and socialize in the same space. He enjoys and uses the downstairs media room more than he expected when he first moved in.

The couple enjoys wildlife both in their backyard and in the large windows of their home, “We watch deer almost every day and never get tired, but we’ve also seen foxes hunting and bald eagles in the fields. It’s like having the animal right out your window.” Channel in HD.
Besides watching wildlife from their boulder home, they also like to get out into nature by walking. “We do the Wonderland Lake loop almost every morning…it’s less than 2 miles and a great way to start the day. For a longer hike, the Hogback Ridge and Foothills Trails connect directly from the Wonderland Lake Trail Head,” says Doug . Close home to one of Boulder’s most scenic trails.
The home is also close to several of Boulder’s urban areas. Doug tells us, “In the summer we enjoy walking the two miles to Pearl Street for dinner, then Uber back or take the bus. We usually stop on the way home for Sweet Cow ice cream! Once we get down (to Pearl Street) ), we feel it.” It’s worth it Saturday morning we bike, we get some fresh produce, Boulder has great bike paths and trails.
Closer to Redwood Avenue are Logan’s Espresso Cafe, Lucky’s Market and North Boulder Wine & Liquor. “In the morning, you can’t just walk to Logan’s for coffee and a sweet from the bakery. In the evening, we often go back to Lucky’s to get something for dinner, and we talk with the wine experts at North Boulder Wine & Spirits. A new bottle to try ,” explains Doug.
