Fatal Car Accident Today In Georgia
Camden County, Ga. – Four people were killed in a crash that closed Interstate 95 in Camden County Friday afternoon, the Georgia State Patrol said. Several people were hospitalized with injuries, a UF Health spokeswoman said.

The crash happened on St. Marys Road just south of Interstate 95. The northbound and southbound lanes were blocked for a time. All lanes reopened shortly before 9 p.m.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. near the Georgia Welcome Center. Two semi-trailers and several cars were involved.
According to officials, the driver of the international truck was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
A white International semi trailer was traveling southbound on the highway when it collided with a Nissan Armada. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which began to overturn and hit a Chevrolet Silverado, which sent the truck across the median and into the northbound lanes of 1-95. The semi was then struck by a Nissan Xterra, a Honda Pilot and a black Peterbilt semi before ending up on I-95 North.

Two passengers of the International Semi died on the spot while the driver was taken to UF Health. Two passengers in the Honda Pilot were also taken to hospital where they later died.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing. The names of the driver and the injured have not been released.
Nearby Kings Bay Naval Station provided assistance, and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office also contributed to the rescue effort.
Traffic was diverted onto nearby U.S. Highway 17 and moved slowly as crews worked to clear the crash site.

It took four hours for rescue crews to reach the scene, traveling from Jacksonville via Highway 17.

Killed In Thanksgiving Day Crash In Colquitt County
Authorities said a Clayton County officer was driving home on Interstate 675 south around 6:08 a.m. when he saw a vehicle in the grass with its headlights on.
After it rolled over, police found the driver passed out behind the wheel. The police woke up the driver by knocking on the car window. The officer said the driver appeared incoherent, had glassy eyes and was sweating profusely.
After being asked to open the door, the driver shifted into gear and accelerated in the opposite direction in the southbound lane, authorities said. The officer returned to his car to follow him and discovered the accident was a mile away.
SKYFOX 5 flew to the crash site and saw several patrol cars blocking lanes and police cordoning off the crime scene and laying tarps.

At this time, investigators say it is unclear if the driver was injured or had a medical emergency, but they are believed to be responsible for the fatal crash.
Another driver who was in the accident also died due to injuries. Police have not released any details about the status or identities of the other people involved.

Dead, Several Hospitalized After 6 Vehicle Crash On I 95 In Camden County
Eight people were killed Wednesday when the driver of a car suspected of transporting smuggled migrants eluded police and crashed into oncoming traffic on a South Texas highway.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. when the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic tried to avoid Zavala County Sheriff’s Office deputies and overtake a state Department of Public Safety semi truck. The Civic collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, causing it to catch fire.
According to DPS, all passengers in both vehicles died. They included the 21-year-old driver of the Civic, who was from Houston, and his five passengers. Some of the passengers were from Honduras, department spokesman Christopher Olivares said in a statement. Two of the Equinox are from Georgia.
It’s unclear how fast the two vehicles were traveling, but photos provided by law enforcement show both vehicles damaged and most of the Equinox burned.

According to the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, 106 people were killed in Border Patrol vehicle pursuits from January 2010 to June of this year. Deaths averaged 3.5 per year in 2019 but increased in 2020, leading officials to create a new policy for vehicle-related businesses with an eye toward improving safety.
The policy, announced in January, does not prohibit stalking but, according to US Customs and Border Protection, “provides a clear framework for weighing the risks of conducting an investigation, such as the danger the stalking poses to the public, against the power of the warrant. “Benefit or necessity”.
Local law enforcement has also been involved in fatal incidents in recent years. In June 2022, four migrants were killed in a smuggling attempt after a police chase in the South Texas town of Encinal, about 80 miles (130 km) southeast of Wednesday’s incident.

A “vigilance alert” was issued after the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a warning about a white Lexus traveling in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 around 2 a.m., NBC affiliate WSAV in Savannah reported. Police were on their way to the highway when they learned that two cars had collided in the midway near Savannah.

A 77-year-old man with Florida license plates collided with a Lexus Nissan Rogue, the Georgia State Patrol said in a statement. Photos show that both SUVs are severely damaged.
All six victims had to be extricated from the vehicle. The family members inside Nissan Rogue were identified as Sarah Robinson, 41, Nathan Robinson, 37, and their three children: Stephen and Rebecca and Alexander, ages 4 to 14.
The family is from Virginia. Relatives who know about the death may remember their birth day, but not their birth year.
