Phoenix Craigslist Cars & Trucks By Owner – In this week’s edition of 5 Under 5, we planted the flag in Phoenix, Arizona. This part of the country is a good market for used cars because it is dry and the average annual rainfall is low. Only three times in history has 15 or more inches of rain fallen in a year, and the coldest annual average temperature was 67.8 degrees Fahrenheit. This means no ice, snow or salt, although the intense heat and dust have their downsides. A working air conditioner is a must.
In 2022, it’s harder than ever to find legally good cars on a reasonable budget under $5,000, but we’ve broken down the selection into categories to help different types of people. Super budget, eco, family friendly, fun and healthy options included.
Phoenix Craigslist Cars & Trucks By Owner
Please note that this is an online preview only and we have not performed any VIN checks on these vehicles, so actual condition and value are not shown. We’re basing our opinion only on what’s obvious from the listing – we haven’t seen any of these cars or spoken to any of their owners. If you can afford it, have it checked out by a mechanic before you buy it. With that said, let’s take a look at Phoenix Craigslist in the $5K section.
Ccsb Z71 Duramax Build
Is the Chevrolet Cobalt a great car? No, but on a very tight budget (I limited my search to $3000 max) this seems like a very clean option that can get the job done with simple transportation. It’ll also get 30 mpg on the highway as long as it’s running properly. With gas prices on the rise, this is a big advantage.
The NHTSA has listed five recalls for the 2008 Cobalt, including ignition switches, fuel pump modules and power steering, so be sure to ask about them and make it the first thing you want to check when you buy it.
The Offspring is a four-door hatchback that’s very practical overall and EPA-rated for 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined.
Although this engine has about 200,000 miles on it, it is known to be reliable, and any repairs performed should not be expensive. It has a built-in subwoofer, but don’t let that put you off, it’s very easy to remove.
Who Has Time To Wait For A New Ford Ranger? (1998 Saturn Sw2 Pickup Truck)
And imagine what? This is a stick for those who keep an eye on them, and the listing says it has a new clutch and flywheel.
Base economy cars aren’t exactly exciting, but the bright orange paint (similar to the factory Fusion Orange?) on the 2006 Saturn Vue certainly stands out, for better or worse. The odometer reads 218,317 miles, but it has a great Honda V6 and the car appears to be in very good condition, including the leather interior. Suspicious, but it’s very clean right down to the headlights and wheels, so you’ll definitely need to check the VIN, as you should on all of these cars.
It also has a touchscreen stereo screen and a rear camera, which is a great addition for anyone. The Tred listing says it has a warning light, but in the pictures it looks like a traction control light, not an engine light.
For what it’s worth, this car looks like it’s in much better shape than the Vue our family just took over. If two rows aren’t enough for your family, check out this decent 2001 Chevrolet Suburban for $2,700.
Here Are The Four Cars I’ve Decided To Bring With Me To My New Los Angeles Apartment
The Tiburon and Genesis coupes are often overlooked due to Hyundai’s long-standing reputation for making cheap cars, but at a reasonable price, they can both make excellent pickups. Personally, I think the Tiburon is a very stylish car, and it looks like this car has had very careful owners who have taken care of it.
These cars are by no means fast, especially with a four-cylinder engine, but they are known for their warm handling, so they can still be fun to drive. The 2007 model also underwent mid-cycle changes, making it the last in the range.
The 2007 Tiburon only had one minor recall so nothing to worry about but it was serviced
Employee and former Tiburon owner Kevin Williams, the timing belt is a concern and needs to be checked.
The Tale Of The Taquito
Nissan used to be a car company, a real car company that made reliable cars with character. This truck is from the old days, before the company went out of business.
As the American pickup truck market recovers, this versatile truck is less than any new model and can be had for less than $4,400 right now. Don’t wait and jump through hoops. Overall it looks like a very clean car, but the door panel is missing and the air intake and hose appear to be missing, so that’s the main issue. However, the side body graphics are pretty adorable.
If you’re a fan of American trucks, check out this absolutely immaculate 1984 Ford Ranger with a gorgeous blue interior.
Warning: Garage’s Five to Five highlights five cars under $5,000 in a specific geographic area. The idea is to take the pulse of the cheap car market and provide some context about the current state of what’s on Craigslist. Please note: We do not know these sellers and have not seen any of these vehicles in person. We only share it based on what the ad says, so use the wallet at your own risk! In the early 1970s, Eric Sableman and his wife, Marianne, enjoyed traveling, a truck, and a budget that meant they could live with Eric’s parents. So they decided to kill two birds with one stone and build a hut on wheels. Now, more than five decades later, they don’t want to give up.

Meet the Trundlehouse, a gorgeous redwood car that sits atop a 1959 GMC truck. The future Mr. and Mrs. Sableman built it in the summer of 1971 on Eric’s grandfather’s farm west of Santa Rosa, California.
“We wanted to travel and didn’t have enough money for a hotel, so it made sense to put a taxi in the truck I was driving,” Eric says.
Devout Quakers, Eric and MaryAnn originally hoped to have Trundlehouse on the road by July 1971 for a Quaker meeting in Oregon. That didn’t happen, but eventually he was driven north on the Pacific Coast Highway to Canada to visit friends. They later took him to California’s Lassen Volcanic Park for their honeymoon in 1972 and made several trips back and forth to Los Angeles to visit Mary Ann’s parents. The couple also lived in a mobile home while Eric worked on his doctorate at Stanford University.
“Buying the right house in 1979 pretty much ended the long commute,” Sableman says. After that, “we used it as a guest room and a playroom for the kids.”

, which refers to a wheeled vehicle that “moves slowly and forcefully, and is usually noisy or uneven.” But his name isn’t the only thing the car lent home, as Eric Sableman sourced wood, parts and reusable accessories wherever he could to save money. While some commenters who saw the Trundlehouse on barnfinds.com assumed that Sabelman built it using a kit or blueprints, he did it all himself. From the beginning.
“There were no plans,” he says. “I looked at a friend’s wood frame mobile home and decided how to improve it. I had two requirements: reduce weight [by removing excess steel from the bed] and provide constant height without adding wind resistance – hence the low roofline and domes.”
Trundelhaus’ features include bucket seats from a 1960s Ford Mustang, seat belts from an airplane, an under-dash compass from a Sherman tank, and an X-ray tachometer normally used to measure radiation exposure, but in this case the register is used for speed engine. “Old redwood paneling, moldings and cabinet doors from a house in Santa Rosa that was built before 1900 that my father took apart and salvaged,” Sableman says. He points out that the cabinet doors are not closed, but made of 1×16 mahogany.
Sabelman installed separate electrical systems so Trundlehouse could be powered by an electrical outlet or battery. There is also a refrigerator, a fresh water tank and a sink, but no toilet. The cab, which is permanently attached to a modified truck frame, has a folding seating/sleeping surface that rests on sliding supports. From cab to cab, the truck pauses.

As for any additions, Eric says, “MaryAnn did most of the interior finishing after the carpentry was done.”
Perhaps the coolest feature of the car home is its vintage Sears and Roebuck cast iron stove, insulated with tiled walls and a chimney that stretches through the ceiling.
The carousel is 112 inches high to the top of the chimney, 228
