Hello there! I’m Dr. Michelle Durkee, a solo veterinarian and owner of West Palm Animal Clinic and Boarding. My interest in animals started when I was young. Sometimes I think I was born to be a vet. In addition to raising dogs and cats like most children, I also raised ducks, squirrels, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, snakes, hamsters, fish, and more. Veterinarian. I volunteered at animal hospitals when I was younger. Then, when I was young, I worked as an assistant of a veterinarian’s nursery in my district. After high school, I attended the University of Florida, where I earned a B.A. i finished in microbiology. I attended Ross University’s four-year veterinary program and completed my final year at Oklahoma State University’s residency program. I received my DVM degree in 1989.

From 1989 to 1994, I worked in a small, busy veterinary practice in Miami, Florida. I then tried working nights at an urgent care clinic and also supported several pet practices in the South Florida area. In May 1997, an opportunity arose to purchase West Palm Animal Clinic.

West Palm Beach, Fl 33406 Veterinary Services

My husband, partner and I have transformed this clinic into a state-of-the-art veterinary practice committed to providing quality veterinary care with an emphasis on customer service. Although it takes time to run a freelance practice, I still find time to provide low-cost veterinary services to several local animal welfare groups. I help care for and monitor animals “desperately” and “24/7”. I live in West Palm Beach with my husband, Michael. I have two sons (Davin and Trevor), three stepchildren (Emily, Austin, and Megan), five grandchildren, and 15 dogs.

Hi, my name is Christine Stirland. I have always loved animals. So when I graduated high school, I decided to go to college to become a certified veterinary technician. I graduated from technical school in 1989. I started working for Dr. Durkee in February 1999. I grew up here in the West Palm Beach area and now live in Royal Palm Beach. I live with my husband, daughter and 2 surviving Frenchies Archie and Penelope and 1 living cat Oliver.

I have been working in the field of veterinary medicine since 1988. I live in Royal Palm Beach and share my home with 4 dogs: Chiro the Long Haired Chihuahua, Lolly the French Bulldog, Maggie the Straight Haired Chihuahua and Pixie the Yorkie. I have a background in customer service and childcare. Along with my love and appreciation for animals, my previous work experience as a veterinarian provided me with a new experience in the field of animal care. I enjoy connecting with clients and their pets and appreciate being a part of the dynamic team at West Palm Animal Clinic.

Hi, I’m Robin. I earned a PhD in Nursing and Education, but after nearly 5 decades of emergency and human health care, I decided to switch to veterinary medicine. Helping four-legged patients and their families get the care they need is less stressful and more fun. 😊

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League

I was born and raised in Colorado; But having lived in Florida since 1995 and lived through 4 hurricanes, I think I have earned the right to be called a Floridian.

I am known as a dog whisperer and animal lover. I can read animals’ body language and feel their energy, so I know what an animal is going to do before it actually does it. My heart belongs to dogs. Cats run close together and I’ve had everything from a llama to a tropical fish to a chinchilla.

I have been in the pet business for over 20 years; This includes building and owning successful boarding, training and day care businesses. I am also a certified professional dog handler and have a certified pet and pet sitter license, which I will keep active if I do it again in the future.

I have always wanted to work in a veterinary clinic. I was looking for a job with a listening employer, friendly managers, and a team whose greatest desire was animal welfare and compassion for pet parents. I found all of this and more at West Palm Animal Clinic.
