Physician assistants provide critical physician support services to ensure the smooth running of healthcare facilities. Using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, MAs help patients feel comfortable during their visits. They are often responsible for both administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient charts, preparing patients and rooms for examinations, assisting physicians with examinations, and other important tasks. You can earn an associate degree in medical assisting by completing additional core requirements before earning a master’s degree. These courses include: Math (3 credits), Science Elective (4 credits), Humanities Elective (3 credits), Science/Social Science Elective (3 credits), Majors (3 credits), Major I (3 credits), Comp II (3 credits) and Servant Leadership (3 credits) for an additional 25 credits. Servant leadership can be completed while earning a master’s degree.
