Physician assistants provide critical physician support services to ensure the smooth running of healthcare facilities. The goal of the Medical Assisting program at Mercy College of Health Sciences is to prepare medical assistants with cognitive learning (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) skills.

You can earn an associate degree in medical assisting by completing additional core requirements before earning a master’s degree. These courses include: Math (3 credits), Science Elective (4 credits), Humanities Elective (3 credits), Science/Social Science Elective (3 credits), Majors (3 credits), Major I (3 credits), Comp II (3 credits) and Servant Leadership (3 credits) for an additional 25 credits. Servant leadership can be completed while earning a master’s degree.
