Around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to the intersection of Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard where a vehicle overturned and landed upside down, fire officials said.

Crews extricated the unidentified driver, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to San Jose Fire Battalion Chief Brad Cloutier.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and it was not immediately clear if wet roads, drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

San Jose police responded to the scene of a car accident that killed one person and sent three others to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The police intervened at about 10:10 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the area of Gurdwara Avenue and Carrera Court in East San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.
A 2001 Honda Civic, with four children inside, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Gurdwara Avenue when it struck a tree in the median and overturned, police said.

The Police indicated that a minor died on the spot and the other three were seriously injured in the incident. This is the 46th fatal collision and 47th fatality in the city in 2021.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
