The large empty Recreation Area has 32 full hookup sites (with on-site electricity, water and sewer) within the RV campground. Each deck offers enough room for a camper, truck and additional vehicle or vehicle trailer. Many sites are designated as “friend sites” and can accommodate two campers for those who want to share a site with friends or family. Adjacent floodlit parking lots accommodate additional vehicles for members or guests. There is also central water and sewage disposal and a modern toilet/bathroom.

For those who like to “rough it,” 16 rustic campsites are located in the oak-hickory forest that grows in Big Hollow. Adequate space between floors helps to keep each floor private. For those who really want to get away from it all, some places can be reached by a short hike up an access road.
The 4th Pumping Plant Recreation Area north of Burlington is a popular destination for picnickers, boaters, RVers, campers and boaters. The park is located along the Mississippi River and offers a total of 46 campsites. 22 of these cups are on fire. Amenities at the 4th pump center include central water supply, central RV dump, shelter, three sheds and a playground. A boat dock and dock with a fish cleaning station provide boating and fishing access to the backwater.
The Sycamore Loop is the most developed Welder Recreation Area and has 18 campsites, 12 of which offer electric hookups. Other amenities at Sycamore Loop include a central water supply, central RV dump, shelter, two outbuildings and a sand volleyball court. The Sycamore Loop is the eastern loop (farthest downstream) of the Welder Recreation Area and has some of the first campgrounds in Iowa at River Oaks RV Park. Enjoy a private 70-acre campground with spacious decks with mature trees that provide tons of shade.
