Our Shih Tzu puppies tend to be slightly larger than the breed standard of 9-16 pounds. Our males approach 20 pounds and females in the 11 – 15 pound range. We do not test Imperial Shih Tzus, so it is rare to find an “Imperial Shih Tzu” from us.
Our original parents, Buddy and Abby are with us and doing well. Abby was last spayed in 2015 and father Bud has now retired from making puppies.
All our adult dogs coexist quite peacefully and enjoy time together, especially playtime. Depending on the weather, we spend a lot of time outside 3-4 hours a day. In spring and autumn we spend more time outside. We were all together at night in an air-conditioned and heated room.
Due to the large number of dogs, we always have open feed available. Our dogs are on a regular current vet schedule which focuses on basic treatments including rabies and Lyme.

We are close to Pittsburgh, PA, but travel a lot from Northern Virginia, West Virginia, all the way to Hampton Roads, VA. When the puppies are born, we plan our trips. Frederick MD for people from DC; Winchester VA for people along the Blue Ridge; and Portsmouth VA for Hampton Roads and Eastern North Carolina. Since we don’t drive in the DC metro area, we use routes like Route 17 from Fredricksburg and I95 south from Richmond. We have been to Elizabeth City, NC and Canton, OH to meet the new furbaby parents. We can manage to find an agreed meeting place if you live outside those areas.
To put the words ON HOLD for your puppy, a $100 deposit is required. Once your puppy has been examined and given his first shot at the vet, we require a $300 deposit to secure the puppy. Sometimes people change their minds at the last minute, for whatever reason, and we are able to deal with this fairly. Your deposit holds your puppy until it is returned to you and does not make the puppy available to others. Our job is to find loving homes for our puppies and return them in an appropriate period of time so they can bond well with their new families.
