Nevada Ccw Approved, Yay
On Wednesday night, Republican lawmakers in Missouri, Gov. They voted to override Jay Nixon’s June bill, SB 656, which would have allowed most people to carry concealed handguns without a permit. That means gun owners no longer have to take an eight-hour safety course or complete live-fire training with a range instructor — something that has been in place since 2003. This Act will come into effect from January 1.
State Sen. Brian Muntzlinger, a Republican sponsor of the bill, said legislation creating the Stand Your Ground Act would “allow law-abiding citizens to protect themselves from criminals.”
But there was no guarantee that Missouri would know how to handle their weapons if the need arose. The state now joins 25 that do not require concealed-carry permit applicants to undergo live-fire training, according to a state-by-state review of training standards.
Only 24 states and the District of Columbia include mandatory chain time as part of their permitting process, while the remaining 26 have no such requirement. (Vermont does not issue concealed-carry permits.) States that do not mandate live-fire training include states like Pennsylvania, where applicants only need to meet certain criteria — a clean criminal record and good mental health history, for example — to be granted a permit. At the other end of the spectrum, to obtain a license in Kentucky, applicants must demonstrate their shooting ability by firing 11 of 20 bullets into a full-size silhouette target.
