Restoration includes 61 Pontiac Ventura – automatic. The late owner rode four speeds, but never more than that. The car is rough, some rust is visible in the photos (repair or replacement of the trunk, damage to the side columns, etc.). Someone in the past was painted brown, parked outside, and let it die for 30 years before the last owner started a restoration. Also included is the Saginaw 62 and 4-speed. The interior appears to be unoriginal and incomplete – no panels, etc. According to the engine code tri 62 or 63 power block, but can not see the casting part number. Can deliver to CA, AZ, NV or WA. It needs a lot of work, but then again, it’s a bubble 61 and 4 speed. Call for more photos or questions Five Four One Four Eight Zero Nine Two Zero Zero

In 2016, the magazine brought to you by NFC Performance was celebrated as the second most influential automotive blog in the world. Lucky day on Monday, I found a barn and found a survivor 1961 Pontiac Ventura, 389 V8 with extra AC! The death is perfect, I can’t wait to get the old one on the road. And my birthday is on Saturday, I went tonight and brought it home, happy birthday to me. I bought it from the original owner’s niece, her uncle bought it new in Ava Missouri, it has Lethco Sales AVA MO dealer badge on it, he also lives in Oklahoma and Texas. Does not run but turns, shows 27,000 on odo, some small areas of rust. I also found about 8 wheels in South Carolina on Craigslist today, woo hoo.
Stay safe and run it, and run it, it looks like the original paint, so maybe give it a good cleaning, remove as much rust as possible and seal it. Fix the seat, if I can’t clean, maybe put on a new carpet, so the driver of the car show is good. I think 8 sprockets will be complementary.
Brazilian Made Oddball: L’automobile Ventura
I don’t remember this model. But he has several Pontiacs GTOs, Bonnevilles. Sounds like a good find: anim_25: Enjoy.
I had a ’61 Catalina convertible that I sold, it was like a project, but the body was pretty much the same.
I don’t think you have to change anything, the center of the wheel is an aluminum brake drum that is bolted like the rear wheel, and the front axle sits on the spindle with a nut, then the steel wheel is bolted to it. Pre 65 wheels are smaller than 65 Nepi and are not interchangeable, see:
A few more photos, I didn’t even notice the seat belt under the seat until I started cleaning the interior.

I think I had a ’61 Ventura bubble top in 1966. It was a good car. This bubble top is really hot in the summer! Good thing you have air conditioning. AND! I had a “Slim Jim” tranny and the valve stuck when going from 1st to 2nd. When that happens, it really hits second place. 389 with 2 bbl carb. If only that car could talk! Replaced by 66 pesos. I wish I still had both LOL. Enjoy your search.
Old thread, but I will definitely be interested in knowing what was done with that car, I always liked the look of 60-63 Pontiacs, I had a good friend and mentor who had a 60, so it’s a real 62 Super Duty with all aluminum. The body section is shorter than the Super Duty engine. Unfortunately, both have disappeared.

In 2016, the magazine brought to you by NFC Performance was celebrated as the second most influential automotive blog in the world. This 1971 Pontiac Ventura II is an affordable project car listed in Branford, Connecticut for $2,000 or best offer. The Ventura II was an X-twin of the venerable Chevy Nova, and while it wasn’t worth much as a collector car, its parts were prevalent and the aftermarket was huge. This car has been garaged for years and has not been driven in over five years. Find out here on Craigslist for more details.
New 2024 Ram Promaster Tradesman Extended Cargo Van In Ventura #240800
The Ventura is powered by a six-cylinder engine, which means that in 1971 it likely came with a 250-cubic inch Chevy six-cylinder as standard equipment. The appearance of this Ventura is completely similar to the stripper model, and I suspect that the original owner checked a lot of boxes when he bought this car. The fact that it doesn’t have a hubcap reflects its rental nature.
If the mileage calculation is accurate, it is only at 91,000 miles. The Ventura II can be equipped with several different options to make it a driver’s car
The trim line offers V8 power, four speeds, a special steering wheel and seat, and other upgrades. If you want these features here, you may need to replace them.
But as affordable project cars go, the X-body is hard to beat. There seems to be a fair number of engine swaps possible, and if you need to replace a rusty body panel on this New England car, good replacement parts are still easy to find. The value will never be high, but if you ever gave up on a Nova project because it was too generic, maybe Ventura II will keep its personality.
