CHEVERLY, Md. A driver and a passenger were killed in a two-car crash in Prince George’s County on Wednesday morning. Police in Prince George’s County said the other driver left the scene and has not been located.

A Kia and another Toyota Camry caught fire. The driver and passenger of the Camry, both male and female, died at the scene. The driver of the Kia fled the scene on foot.

“Shock and grief comes with seeing something like this,” Sarah Brown said. The accident happened outside his house. “Then it’s just a big sadness for the family,” he said.

Investigators later discovered that a Kia home in Upper Marlboro had been burglarized. So far in 2023, 827 Kias have been reported stolen in the region, police said. Police in Prince George have arrested 176 people for stealing Kias and Hyundais. According to the police, 51 of them were adults and 125 were children.

Investigators are still looking for the other driver involved in the crash, even going door-to-door Wednesday looking for doorbell video and other witnesses.

“I like to think that these people can’t hide forever,” Brown said. “I think there is evidence to be shared and I hope the community will come together and work together.”

Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Multi Vehicle Crash In Baltimore County

ROCKVILLE, Md. One man was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash that closed a long stretch of road Sunday morning in Rockville, Maryland.

Montgomery County Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Mucaster Mill Road and Sycamore Lane at approximately 7:23 p.m.

According to police, the driver of a black Honda Civic traveling west to east on Mucaster Mill Road collided with a Ford Escape traveling east to west on Mucaster Mill Road.

Police said the driver of the Honda, later identified as Eddy Thomas Jara, 30, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died.

The driver and front passenger of the Ford were taken to an area hospital with injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash. Two roads in the area were closed for the investigation Sunday morning. It is not known how long the road was closed.

The accident happened at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at the Little Falls Bridge over the DC line. According to the police, traffic was blocked there until 10 o’clock.

According to fire department spokesman Pete Piringer, one person was seriously injured in the crash. The other person, who is not believed to be life-threatening, was taken to hospital.

The other person was checked immediately, but did not want to go to the hospital.
