Magnetic resonance imaging is an imaging procedure that uses not radiation, but a strong magnetic field and radio frequency to diagnose and treat medical conditions. It is most commonly used to evaluate conditions such as tumors and diseases of the brain, spine, liver, heart and intestines. Our X-ray team works to make you comfortable and relaxed despite the non-invasive nature of the exam.

Interventional radiology (IR) is a medical specialty that performs minimally invasive procedures using imaging for procedural guidance. These procedures include image-guided biopsies, cancer therapies, and various endovascular procedures—resulting in less risk, less pain, and a shorter recovery time than open surgery. However, being screened for an intervention can be worrying. That’s why the doctors at DIA are above all dedicated to your comfort and confidence before, during and after treatment.

DIA’s women’s imaging services cover a range of imaging procedures from mammography to ultrasound and MRI. Image-guided breast biopsies can be performed as an outpatient procedure to diagnose benign and potentially malignant areas.

Before your test, your doctor will give you instructions on how best to prepare for the treatment. You can expect your privacy to be respected during your studies and be left fully informed about the next steps for your care.

When you come in for an X-ray with Diagnostic Imaging Associates, you’ll work with your healthcare team to diagnose conditions ranging from broken bones to infection. DIA doctors promise to put your mind at ease and instruct you on the best way to position your body to get the clearest results, including breathing instructions if deemed necessary.

Radiologists at DIA use fluoroscopy to diagnose medical conditions such as pain, acid reflux and other gastrointestinal symptoms in a minimally invasive manner. A fluoroscopy procedure involves using a fluoroscope to project x-ray images in sequence. This allows your doctor to monitor a range of movements, giving your care team a comprehensive and detailed view of your health.

Ultrasound (also known as ultrasonography) is used to take images for accurate diagnosis and treatment of various conditions. Using sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body, this safe and non-invasive procedure helps diagnose conditions from obstetrics to kidney imaging and beyond. The doctors at Diagnostic Imaging Associates promise to prioritize attention to detail and your comfort.

Neuroradiology is a subspecialty of diagnostic radiology that focuses on diagnosing abnormalities of the head, brain, spine and neck using various neuroimaging techniques. The health of your neurological system is of utmost importance to your team of neurologists, neurosurgeons and neurointerventionists. Doctors at DIA help your healthcare team interpret images to diagnose strokes, tumors, genetic conditions, aneurysms, Alzheimer’s disease and more.

Your DIA musculoskeletal radiologist works with your team of sports medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons to carefully evaluate bone, joint and related soft tissue abnormalities. Your doctor may refer you to a radiologist to diagnose arthritis, internal joint disorders, or other joint diseases.

Pediatric radiology uses specialized protocols tailored specifically for children to accurately diagnose disease, injury and illness in infants, children and young people. These protocols enable healthcare teams to accurately assess pediatric conditions in a child-friendly manner.

Nuclear medicine imaging provides unique information about a patient’s condition that cannot be obtained with other imaging procedures. During your treatment, your doctor will inject or ask you to inhale/swallow small amounts of radioactive material called radiotracers. The radio tracker travels through the area being examined and emits energy that can be detected by special equipment. This creates sophisticated images that your healthcare team uses to assess, diagnose and treat your medical condition.

X-rays of the body are used to evaluate diseases involving the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Your doctor may refer you to a radiologist to diagnose the stage of the cancer or disorders of the breast, genitourinary system, and/or gastrointestinal system. In order to receive the best possible care, your doctor works with a team of urologists, pulmonologists, gynaecologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons.
