The check came back with specific instructions about the money. Jeanette Thomas said the robbers told her to cash the check and take it to Walmart.

“Your first job was at Walmart, and I really liked iTunes — buying $700 worth of iTunes,” Thomas said.

Scammers say they will go to Walmart, spend $50 and buy $700 worth of iTunes gift cards in other denominations. He also asked Thomas to send the PINs for the iTunes card and manage the customers.
“When you are in the store, check how the customers are doing, how things are, and how the cards in the store are. We especially want to know if the store has enough iTunes gift cards for customers,” Thomas said.
Thomas wants people to know that at first he thought the check was genuine. But upon closer inspection, there is no address or phone number for Space Coast Credit Union.
If you or someone you know receives a check in the mail, don’t pay it. Always call the bank first to confirm the check number.
