San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria also released a statement mourning the loss and spoke to Nisleit at a news conference Friday night.
“In the coming days, we will learn more about these public servants who proudly wear the badge to keep us safe and honor them for their service,” the statement said. “I ask the people of San Diego to keep the officers and their families in your prayers.”
