6 Injured In Car Accident – In Texas, a teenage truck driver swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed into a minivan carrying seven people, killing six, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.
Three people, including the 17-year-old driver of a pickup truck, were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash in Johnson County, south of Fort Worth, the department said in a news release Tuesday.

The accident occurred on national road 67 around 4 p.m. On Tuesday, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado carrying a 17-year-old driver and a passenger was traveling southbound when it entered the northbound lane of a “no passing” zone, the department said.

The driver of the Odyssey and five passengers were killed. The only surviving passenger, a 43-year-old man, was seriously injured, police said.
Aerial video broadcast by NBC Dallas-Fort Worth showed both vehicles were heavily damaged, with the front of each destroyed.
The victim was identified as Lucille Barry, 28, of Irving, Texas, who was the driver of the Odyssey. Navina Potabhatula, 36 years old. Nageswararao Ponnada, 64 years old. and Sitamaralakshmi Ponnada (60 years old). and their children, Kritik Potabatura (10 years old) and Nishida Potabatura (9 years old).

Barry’s roommate, Ayyapala Bandar, said Barry was driving with his cousin, his cousin’s wife, his two young children and his in-laws when the accident happened.

Witnesses provided CBS2 with video showing the car panicking minutes after the crash and the car still emitting smoke. Good Samaritans tried to help the victims.

It is unclear why the driver lost control. It is unclear whether drivers will be charged a fee.
