Fatal Accident In West Virginia – Kanawha County, W.Va. () – West Virginia State Police have confirmed that one person is dead and at least five others injured after a crash Friday night.
State troopers say 43-year-old Hans Robinson of Charleston died when his pickup truck was struck by a tractor trailer.

Police say the driver of the tractor trailer lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the concrete barrier separating the northbound and southbound lanes. The truck then hit Robinson’s pick-up truck and another small passenger car.
Update: One Dead In W.va. Turnpike Crash
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the pickup truck were taken to a nearby hospital and have been released or are in stable condition.
The driver and two passengers of the small vehicle involved in the collision suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Kanawha County, W.Va. () – Metro County 911 dispatchers said the West Virginia Turnpike was closed in both directions for several hours Friday night after a fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
They say one person has died and four others are in hospital. It is not known how many other vehicles were involved in the incident.

“I stepped on the brakes to stop the lorry and escape,” he said. “Another second and he would have killed me.”
After leaving the camper, McMeeken said there were three women in a white car in front of them and one was trapped.
“He was pinned to the seat,” she said. “Friends couldn’t get him out. So we went there and grabbed him and pulled him out.
The accident was reported just before 4:30 p.m. At mile marker 83.5 before the toll booth on the south side. It is in the Cabin Creek area.

According to Metro 911, all southbound lanes and one northbound lane reopened shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Cabin Creek Road, Paint Creek Road and State Route 61 / McCorkle Avenue SE reopened after 7 p.m. They were previously shut down due to fuel leaks.
