Des Moines Ballet and the University of Iowa Hancher Auditorium are collaborating for the first time
Is a multi-state collaboration with outdoor performances April 30-May 1, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa City, and Muscatine. These free shows give attendees a chance to come together to enjoy great shows and celebrate the spirit of revival.
Each evening five productions feature a wide range of actors, all with Iowa connections: professional dancers from the Des Moines Ballet, musicians from the University of Iowa Dance Company, and actors from the City of Miami, special guests Katia Carranza and Johar Fernandez. From Ballet and Monterey, musicians from the Rothman String Quartet, including members of the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, join Ballet Des Moines to provide live music for ballet.
Opening night of Dancing Into Spring is Friday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m., at the Des Moines Water Works Amphitheater at Lauritsen Park.
