24 Hour Mcdonald's Des Moines – You can blame me for the ten pounds I’m about to help you gain over the next few months. But it’s worth it.

According to a story on mlive.com, McDonald’s has taken the best baked goods ever sold, revamped them, and brought them back to the delight of the millions of us who were obsessed with them.

It sat alongside other baked goods like apple fritters, blueberry muffins and cinnamon rolls. But Danish cookies stood out as the most decadent and delicious of all their baked goods.

These were things you would think about the night before if you knew you were going to have your treatment in the morning.

According to the description on McDonald’s website, the Buttery and Sweet Cheese Danish is “made with a sweet cream cheese filling covered in light vanilla and topped with a buttery streusel topping.”

And rumor has it that even though the recipe is slightly different, it’s just as good, if not better, than the original.

The good news is that (as of last year) there are 266 McDonald’s restaurants in New Jersey, and for those of you who have never been there, you can experience its vastness.

At Blank Children’s Hospital, we adhere to the philosophy of family-centered care, where families are recognized as the most important part of a child’s treatment process and are actively involved in patient care as a permanent part of a child’s life. Participation is encouraged. Blank Children’s Hospital is full of amenities that make family involvement easy and comfortable, from sleeping in the nursery to a family space and playground. Our philosophy of care has shown that children are less distressed, require less medication, and recover faster.

Extending beyond our walls through our Help and Support Center, we have created a number of programs to promote the health and safety of children and parents. Our core initiatives include safety and injury prevention, public health and medical care. Our medical team travels across the state to train paramedics and emergency medical services personnel who provide care to children in their most critical moments. Our goal is to ensure that all Iowa children receive the highest level of care when they need it.

We are one of two hospitals in the state that train future pediatricians. By doing so, we help ensure that future children have access to expert childcare.

Our clinical training extends beyond the residency program. We offer future nurses, pharmacists, radiologists and child life specialists the opportunity to learn and develop their skills. By doing so, we help ensure that Iowans have access to the best child care for years to come.

Raise The Line

We believe in caring for all children inside and outside our hospital. Across our state, programs focus on key areas of advocacy, injury prevention, public health, and clinical care.

We are committed to providing children with access to special childcare. We are constantly recruiting new providers to work in areas of patient need at Blanca Children’s Hospital.

Our doctors provide high quality patient care. Quality care means patients recover faster and require fewer hospital stays. We strive to provide the best possible outcomes for every patient we see.

No child is ever left behind. Regardless of ability to pay, we will care for any child in need. We work with many insurance companies, government programs and the uninsured to make sure they get the help they need.

Blank Children’s Hospital is the only civilian hospital built during World War II. At the time, Iowa had the highest rate of childhood polio of any state, but was one of the few states without a children’s hospital to care for them. The family of AH and Anna Blank built the first hospital in 1944 in honor of their son Raymond, who died young, to serve the medical needs of sick and injured children in Iowa; A legacy that continues for 75 years.

AH and Anna Blank established the Raymond Blank Memorial Children’s Hospital in 1944 in honor of their son Raymond, who died at the age of 33. Raymond Blank was America’s youngest Eagle Scout. He attended the Geneva Peace Conference as a young reporter and was appointed by President Roosevelt to head the State Polio Foundation. During this time, he helped open a polio ward at Iowa Methodist Hospital. For most of her life she shared a deep love and concern for the welfare of all children. When he died, his family honored his memory by building Raymond Blank Memorial Children’s Hospital, Iowa’s first children’s hospital, in 1944.

Blank Children’s Hospital was the only civilian hospital that polio ravaged Iowa during World War II. Today, she remains a treasure for sick and injured children in Iowa.

Blanca has been an integral part of Blanca Children’s Hospital since its inception. AH Blank was known for throwing lavish holiday parties for patients. Because the Blanks were in the movie business, they had ties to Disney. When the hospital opened, Mr. Blank called Walt Disney and asked some of his artists to come to the hospital and paint the walls. These walls decorated the playroom where children could play and have fun. Over the years, these walls have been moved and placed behind plexiglass for protection. Today, the walls greet patients and their families in the intensive care unit, playroom and conference room.

Other big supporters of Blank Children’s Hospital were Raymond’s brothers, Myron “Mike” and Jackie Blank. Mike and Jackie continue the family tradition of loving giving. They understood the special needs of children’s hospitals and why they needed community support. Mike and Jackie were the first two to step forward when the Blank Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees identified the need for a “new” extended family-oriented children’s hospital in 2001.

Their generosity led to a successful $8.4 million capital campaign, the largest ever for Central Iowa hospitals. His generosity lives on today and into the future. Because Myron and Jackie were such devoted supporters, when Myron died in 2005, he left a $5 million bequest to Blanca Children’s Hospital in his will. This gift helped launch the Planned Children’s Hospital Charity Campaign. Their generosity is evident in every corner of our city and state: the zoo, the arts center, university programs for the gifted and talented, and more. But nowhere is his leadership and philanthropic spirit more appreciated than at Blank Children’s Hospital. The smiles on our young patients’ faces every day show how grateful we are.

Construction of Blank Children’s Hospital started. The original 80-bed hospital had a playroom decorated with murals of Disney characters created by Walt Disney artists. Dr. Lee Forresthill was instrumental in the development of Blank Children’s Hospital.
