Divorce Mediation Palm Beach County – Grant J. Gisondo, P.A.>Child Support>How Can Effective Mediation Reduce Costs and Gain Control in Your Divorce?
Definition of Mediation Mediation is a process in which the mediator, a neutral and trained third party, works with the couple and their attorneys to create an acceptable agreement called a cooperative agreement and negotiation.

Savings and control are two aspects of a divorce case that most couples want to take advantage of. The current high cost of a qualified attorney and the uncertainty of how judges will rule on issues such as alimony, division of property and marital obligations, and future custody and support of children, are a major concern when considering divorce. Creating a matrimonial agreement through effective mediation can be a great way to reduce attorney fees and resolve separation and alimony issues. In states like Florida, the division of marital assets and liabilities (assets and liabilities acquired after marriage) will be equal, not divided equally. Additionally, when it comes to minors, parents can write their own parenting plan, which includes details about how they will share parenting time. Child support may also be discussed. In general, the spouses can determine the outcome of the divorce rather than having a judge make those decisions, which is what happens when a divorce case goes to court. Although judges try to be fair, they are human, they have good days and bad days, and sometimes they don’t see things the way you see them.

There is also the issue of price. Although mediation does involve costs, it is not as expensive as going to court. First, the principle that mediation fees should be shared equally between the parties. When a case goes to court, each party is responsible for its own costs, although sometimes a judge will rule that one party must pay the other party’s costs. For example, if one is financially well off and the other is having difficulty paying court costs, the judge may order relief, but there is no guarantee this will happen. Second, if marital mediation is not completed and the case has to go to court, the attorney representing both parties must remain in court to hear the case. There will be legal fees for things like attorney time, motions, depositions, interrogatories, production orders, and hiring expert witnesses. The cost of an attorney to take a divorce case from inception to successful mediation is much less than going to court to get the final outcome.
There are other types of fees besides fees for additional services. This is the cost of time and mind. Since in most states, Florida is the only court with a supported case, it can sometimes take several months to get to court to get a final answer. Time is often valuable both in dollars and in terms of a person’s emotional, and sometimes even physical, health.
It is important to understand that the judge will review the marriage agreement, especially the child support and parenting plan, before signing the final judgment. In general, there is no problem with having a lawyer, and the mediator will advise and assist the couple once the final agreement is signed, witnessed and notarized.

Josh and his team have proven themselves. I rented it at 9am and they came at 1pm. The situation of parents who quarreled a lot turned into a nightmare. He fought in a short time and got the results he needed. My son is back. Josh and his friends are kind, patient, energetic and aggressive. They are human beings. I trusted them every step of the way. They informed me and fought hard. I would hire Josh and his team again any time. Well worth the money spent. -Rochelle
