Las Vegas, December 15, 2015 // –Cox Business/Hospitality Network, a division of Cox Communications, Inc. and a leading provider of broadcast and technology services to the commercial and gaming resort industry in Southern Nevada, has been named the exclusive provider of technology integration and telecommunications services for the new Las Vegas arena. The 20,000-seat sports and entertainment facility on the Las Vegas Strip is scheduled to open in April 2016.

Cox To Enter Us Wireless Industry This Fall
Cox Business/Hospitality Network designed and built a 10 gigabit, diverse and redundant fiber optic network for the Las Vegas arena to support the deployment of wired and wireless Internet connectivity to the main venue. Using Cisco Connected Stadium Wi-Fi, more than 550 Wi-Fi access points throughout the arena will provide targeted download speeds of up to 20 Mbps to Wi-Fi enabled devices. Guests will be able to authenticate their free Wi-Fi connection by entering the adjacent two-acre outdoor entertainment space, Toshiba Plaza, at the arena while enjoying interactive experiences throughout the facility.
In addition to deploying and managing wired and wireless Internet infrastructure, Cox will use Cisco StadiumVision to centrally manage and run more than 60 high-definition news, sports and entertainment channels from Cox’s cable lineup and internal business/hospitality networks. The floor broadcasts up to 650 digital screens throughout the arena located in luxury VIP suites, opera boxes and clubs, as well as concessions and public areas. All monitors will be able to stream live from the auditorium. The solution, which allows for 4K resolution video, gives arenas the flexibility they need to create unique experiences for each event with themed content and promotions.
