Three drivers of the Honda and an additional passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
All lanes of southbound I-5 were detoured to SR-56 and the Carmel Valley on-ramp to southbound I-5 was closed during the crash investigation. The lanes were reopened at 6 am.

The driver of the Mini Cooper died and two passengers in the Nissan Murano were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, the CHP said.
The San Diego CHP office is currently investigating the crash, and it is not yet known if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash.

On the day of the tragedy, Heitman’s family friend, who is also a psychiatrist, called 911 and asked a dispatcher to visit Heitman’s home.

Three San Diego police officers arrived at the home of the 18-year-old, who was sleeping upstairs. The parents appealed to the authorities for help in getting their son to see a doctor. Heitman’s mother told them her son sent her threatening text messages and told her to leave the house.
“Before you start ma’am, there is a standard. He has to be severely disabled, a credible threat to someone. Or a harm to himself. There are only a few standards by which we can judge him,” said another.

Heitman – a YouTube star who has made millions online – owns a McLaren sports car, which has impressed the authorities.
“He must be doing something violent. He must be wanting to hurt himself or someone else,” an officer said.
Hours later, Trevor Heitman left the house alone and put McLaren in his father’s car to pull him out of the driveway.

Heitman drove the wrong way on I-805 and hit 43-year-old Eileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter, Arianna.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Four people were ejected and killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash on State Route 94 outside of downtown San Diego.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened around 2:24 a.m. on eastbound SR-94 near the transition at Home Avenue and State Route 15.

CHP officials at the scene said a black BMW M3 with five passengers was leaving the center when the driver lost control, hit an embankment and then rolled several times. Several witnesses told CHP officers they believed the car was going at least 100 mph.
Four people were thrown onto highway lanes and at least one victim was hit by another passing vehicle, the ABC understands.
Emergency services said four people died at the scene. CHP officers identified the victim as 26-year-old La Mesa (the driver). 35-year-old from Chula Vista; 33-year-old woman; and a 20-year-old woman from National City.
A 22-year-old female passenger from San Marcos was hospitalized with minor injuries. CHP officials told ABC that the only survivor sitting in the right passenger seat was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
