The San Diego CHP office is currently investigating the crash, and it is not yet known if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the crash.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Four people were ejected and killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash on State Route 94 outside of downtown San Diego.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened around 2:24 a.m. on eastbound SR-94 near the transition at Home Avenue and State Route 15.

CHP officials at the scene said a black BMW M3 with five passengers was leaving the center when the driver lost control, hit an embankment and then rolled several times. Several witnesses told CHP officers they believed the car was going at least 100 mph.

Four people were thrown onto highway lanes and at least one victim was hit by another passing vehicle, the ABC understands.

Emergency services said four people died at the scene. CHP officers identified the victim as 26-year-old La Mesa (the driver). 35-year-old from Chula Vista; 33-year-old woman; and a 20-year-old woman from National City.
