The new Iowa City Chase Bank branch opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning after moving to Iowa City in the fall of 2022. The branch, located at 105 E. Burlington Street, is Chase’s fourth branch to open in the state of Iowa. The remaining three locations – in Des Moines and West Des Moines – will open in 2021. Brian Hanover, Chase’s U.S. regional communications manager, said the new location will especially benefit UI students originally from Illinois. Chase is a popular bank in Illinois. “A lot of kids and parents have Chase accounts or want their kids to get started, so it makes even more sense to us because kids will recognize Chase and maybe feel comfortable adding [accounts] now that they have a campus, which can be visited while they are at school,” Hanover said. Maja Hadzic, director of marketing for Chase’s banking division in Iowa and Nebraska, said the company identified Iowa City as a good location to open a branch last year.” Iowa City is a market we know means a lot to our community and our customers, and so we know that we need to be present in those communities, particularly in the university here,” Hadzic said. While Chase offers online services to its customers, Hadzic said there are also physical places people can turn to when they need help. “When it comes to service, when it comes to counseling, when it comes to sitting down with someone and working through goals and plans or problems, that’s what we are ‘I’m here,’” Hadzic said. “So that’s a very nice compliment, in sense that our customers know that we are there for them and that we are not too far away.” Additionally, the physical location is an advantage for people who move or are not necessarily in the place where they normally live. The site offers several services , including: transaction service areas ATMs in the building 24 hours a day Chase ATMs Private Customer Offices Cashier Night Deposit Services Free Wi-Fi.levels, including young people such as UI students opening their first bank accounts. “What’s better than being here, being a few blocks from the university and being able to help those who are just starting their banking career and how to use their credit cards, their debit cards, their their savings accounts… That’s what we’re doing here,” Hazdich said. “We help them learn all the skills that will make them financially successful in the long term.”

The Iowa City office, 300 S. Clinton St., will be on the first floor of the Edge, a mixed-use commercial-residential building.
New York’s JPMorgan Chase is the largest bank in the country. It has three locations in Iowa: one in West Des Moines and two in Des Moines. A second location in Des Moines is expected to open in early 2023.
Hadzic said the Iowa City expansion is an “important market” as the company plans to expand into Iowa.
“We are excited about the city’s vibrant economy, strong small business community and, of course, enthusiastic students, many of whom are already customers through our popular credit cards,” Hadzic said.
Central Iowa Chase Ends With Man In Custody
The Iowa City office will have eight to 10 employees and a minimum wage of $20 an hour, Hadzic said.
“We look forward to opening our doors to what will be a beautiful retail space that caters to all types of financial services and will be different than a typical bank,” Hadzic said.
