Flowers In Fort Wayne Indiana – One of the benefits of living in Northeast Indiana is the ability to experience all four seasons. Winter always seems so long, and most of us are ready to enjoy Fort Wayne in all its springtime glory in March and April. Be sure to visit these nine must-see attractions in Fort Wayne, Indiana this spring.
Skip the expensive parking and traffic congestion of big cities – Fort Wayne has its own minor league baseball team, the TinCaps, who play regularly at beautiful Parkview Field. The season begins at home on May 4.

I’ve been to a few TinCaps games and I can tell you that the game is a lot of fun (and I’ll freely admit that I’m not a baseball fan). All the seats are good, the ticket prices are cheap, the parking is close and easy to find, and the game itself is fun. Many night games feature post-game fireworks displays against Fort Wayne’s beautiful skyline.

Spring is a great time to hike. This spring, how about a hike to see Indiana’s native plants? You can do that along the Purdue Fort Wayne Native Tree Walk, a 1.25-mile trail located near the intersection of North Anthony Avenue and the Coliseum.
The paved path is perfect for walking, jogging or biking through many of our familiar Hoosier trees. You can take your time and add educational benefits by reading the information panels on the tree. Bring a camera to photograph all the spring trees.
Jefferson Pointe is one of my favorite shopping destinations in Fort Wayne. I usually visit in the winter, but I realize that it’s not always pleasant to fight the freezing wind with a scarf wrapped around your head.
However, in the spring, the outdoor shopping center comes alive. It has a beautiful view and you can spend a lot of time enjoying the flowers and trees outside in the southwest location of Fort Wayne. But stop by the many shops and restaurants to see what’s new for spring.
These Are 19 Of The Best Things To Do In Fort Wayne In 2019
Zesto ice cream is a Fort Wayne tradition. There are many great ice cream places in Fort Wayne, but Zesto is special because the walk-up spots are perfect for an afternoon break.
Enjoy an ice cream cone, or try something new with one of the many ice creams, milkshakes and tempting flavors on offer (one of my daughters loves the Zebra ice cream). You can find Zesto at its original location at 2225 Broadway or one of the other locations in St Joe Center, Falls Drive or E. Washington Center. Zesto usually opens for the season in March.
The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, located in downtown Fort Wayne next to the Embassy Theater on West Jefferson, is a restorative place to visit any time of the year, with evergreen trees and blooming flowers in abundance.
But the conservatory blooms in a special way in the spring. It has three large areas that display different environments – if you can’t imagine the desert, go to the rainforest – and there is also an educational area that the children will love to interact with. They also have a special exhibition garden with seasonal displays – be sure to check out the annual butterfly exhibit opening on April 10th! And before you leave, visit the shop full of wonderful plant-themed gifts.

Fort Wayne has so many beautiful parks that it’s hard to choose just one to visit. Here are the two that I like best.
Stop at Lakeside Park to admire the beautiful rose garden – you’ll find thousands of roses of over 100 different varieties. Children enjoy playing with playground equipment.
Foster Park is another great choice for viewing seasonal flowers and trees, and you’ll find plenty of trails here to walk your dog or with a good friend. The Fort Wayne Rivergreenway also runs through Foster Park, so you can continue jogging or walking throughout the city.
If you had to pick one destination as a must-see destination in Fort Wayne, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo would probably be it.

This is a great zoo, always in the top 10 zoos for children in the country. If for some reason you haven’t been, spring is the best time to visit because this is when the zoo is open every year.
The zoo is divided into different areas, which allow you to “visit” Africa, Australia and other exotic locations. You can easily spend a few hours or a whole day at the zoo.
Visit a historic Fort Wayne location with a new purpose at The Landing. Located on Canal Street along Columbia Street, The Landing marks the spot where all the canals in the region landed in the 1800s. Today, you’ll find new and unique restaurants and shops that sell a beautiful Buffalo mural.
Since settling in Fort Wayne, our three rivers: St. Mary, St. Joseph and Maumee, have become an intrinsic part of the city. Now, you can spend the day exploring Fort Wayne’s beach attractions and entertainment. The Fort Wayne Riverfront is a large and beautiful area with many options for spring fun, including Promenade Park – a unique park that connects our rivers with downtown Fort Wayne. Stroll along the tree-lined paths and walkways to enjoy the view, drink a beer at the Promenade Park beer garden, relax on the porch swing, or add a little adventure to your vacation with a River Cruise by boat or kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. Spring and summer are always sweet and rewarding in Fort Wayne, Indiana. If you get a chance to explore Fort Wayne in the spring, be sure to stop at some of the best spots to see spring flowers.

After months of gray and snow, ice and cold, the park city of Fort Wayne is still alive. The sky is blue, the air is warmer, and everywhere you go is full of color. From wildflowers to carefully planted beds, Fort Wayne sure knows how to put on a flower show.
ACRES Land Trust is a local organization that works to maintain working lands and local natural areas and manages properties in Northeast Indiana and has over 70 miles of trails perfect for sightseeing. of wild flowers. The preserve has wetlands and streams, trees and bushes, and some of the most beautiful places in the area to see spring, well, spring. But the flowers in the land managed by the trust are not about manicured gardens or deliberate displays. Flowers grow where they are born.
“It’s great to walk through these areas a few times a season to see the new flowers that are coming out,” said Lettie Haver, of the ACRES Land Trust.
Favorite places to visit include the Bicentennial Forest, 340 E. Shoaff Road. In the Bicentennial Forest, visitors can see oak, pecan, and sycamore trees, some of which are over 200 years old. Spring wildflowers include wild blue phlox, wild geranium, dracaena, Jack-in-the-pulpit and many varieties of trillium. Bicentennial Forest is ACRES’ most popular preserve, and parking at the preserve is limited, so consider a weekday visit during peak weekend hours (Sunday afternoon is peak time).

From parks filled with bright flowers to tall planters filled with colorful annuals, the city center is bursting with flowers. Take a casual walk during your lunch break or go for a walk to see different flowers. Stop at Freimann Square, where flower beds complement the park’s swimming pool and public exhibits at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.
While the keepers are busy tending to the animals, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s horticulture department is busy making the garden an attractive place for children and the adults who bring them. Guests are greeted with displays from the moment they arrive with flowers as a backdrop for your photo of the letters Z-O-O. The landscape has hundreds and hundreds of annuals planted each year, with additional beds for display. In the fall, summer flowers are replaced by vibrant mums as the zoo hosts its annual Halloween event.
Every year, what seems like a sea of tulips bloom from the beds of Foster Park. While the entrance to the park is being built for a city water project, you still have the opportunity to see the colorful display. The 255-acre park has a bridal valley where couples can not only say “I do” but visitors can also walk the path to various planted areas. Whether you’re riding, walking, or running along the greenway, take a moment to breathe as you pass the fragrant and vibrant lilac bushes on Broadway. Small purple flowers almost cover you when you go to the park or downtown.
A quick detour from the park is the city’s historic Southwood Park neighborhood. The neighborhood association takes great pride in making the area beautiful and puts on an impressive display throughout the spring and summer. The association maintains flower-filled park strips, and the owners engage in a friendly competition to win the flowers.
