Other facilities affected: Summerlin Health Care with eight cases, six residents and two deaths; Horizon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Las Vegas with 38 cases involving 14 residents and 24 staff; Lakeside Health & Wellness Suites in Reno, with six cases, including three residents and four deaths; and Merrill Gardens Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, with 4 cases, one resident and two deaths. One day care facility, Sierra Vista Children’s Academy in Carson City, reported one case among residents.
Six cases were reported at four correctional facilities – Casa Grande Correctional Facility, Ely State Prison, High Desert State Prison and South Desert Correctional Facility – involving six staff members.
The numbers are regularly updated on Monday, and there are some seasonal inconsistencies in some of the reports. For example, the state website lists six cases at the Lakeside facility in Reno. But in a news release Monday morning, Washoe County Health Officer Kevin Dick listed 36 cases based on the latest state data.

“We’re working with the states to see what they find in those studies, but they’re the primary filters in those homes,” Dick said.
Statewide, Nevada had more than 3,000 Covid-19 cases and 120 deaths on Monday. Institutional cases accounted for nearly six percent of the state’s total cases and 15 percent of the state’s deaths.
The US government evaluates thousands of Medicare and Medicaid nursing homes across the country and provides audit reports and a rating system. Costs for 17 such facilities in Nevada with the COVID-19 outbreak are ranked from best to worst in a new state database.
