Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is one of the busiest airports in the United States, handling over 52 million passengers in 2023. LAS is the gateway to the famous Las Vegas Strip, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and many other national parks.

Whether you’re flying to Las Vegas or LAS, here’s everything you need to know about Harry Reid International Airport.

Las Vegas, Nevada Harry Reid International

LAS has 2 main terminal buildings and both terminals have multiple runways. Terminal 1 is the main domestic terminal with flights from gates A, B, C and D. Terminal 3 serves domestic and international flights from gates D and E.

Terminals 1 and 3 are not connected, so passengers are advised to check in advance to find the correct terminal to avoid having to use a shuttle between the terminals. Shuttles run every 20 to 30 minutes on Level 0 in both Terminals 1 and 3.

Check-in and arrivals are located on the lower level of Terminal 1, with a ground transfer service between Zones 2.

Esplanade Terminal 1 has an upper floor with food court, shops, security and an airport tram stop.

Passengers flying from gates C23 to C25 may find it quicker to go through the Annex C checkpoint and walk to the departure gate. Because of the size of the center, there are many shops and restaurants, including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Wendy’s and Jamba Juice.

To connect to exits A or B, take the concourse at the north end of the concourse (to the left of Jamba Juice) or to get to exits D or E, take the Airport Tram Blue Line.

Departures are on the upper level, with ticket counters and security located across the E-side departures area.

The departure area at Exit E has 14 exits, numbers E1 to E12, E14 and E15. Most international airlines operate from gates E and Palace has a selection of shops and restaurants and The Club lounge at LAS.

An airport tram frequently transports passengers between terminals and exits in the security area. There are 3 colored lines to help passengers find the route they need.

The bus runs every 20 to 30 minutes and transports passengers between the terminals. Buses operate outside the security area, so passengers must go through security when they arrive at the terminal.

Buses depart from Terminal 1 on Level 0, in front of Gates 7 to 13, and from Terminal 3 on Level 0 on both the west side to serve domestic passengers and the east side to serve international passengers.

LAS encourages passengers to keep fit and walk around the airport terminals before flights. The colored lines on the map above are approximate routes and distances (more detailed maps can be found on the airport’s Fly Fit! page). Please note that there is no luggage storage, so you will need to carry hand luggage and personal belongings.

LAS has 3 security checkpoints in Terminal 1 and 1 in Terminal 3. Each has different opening hours:

Hot tip: TSA security doesn’t have to be stressful. Here’s our guide on how to get through TSA stress-free and easy.

North Las Vegas Airport

LAS has dedicated TSA PreCheck lanes in each terminal, but they don’t have the same hours as regular security checkpoints:

These hours are subject to change, so check the TSA PreCheck schedule. Outside of the above hours, passengers will be subject to expedited screening at standard checkpoints, but this will differ from the PreCheck screening process.

LAS has a TSA PreCheck check-in center in Terminal 1, located at baggage claim outside the security area, so passengers can schedule their interview once they have been conditionally cleared. The Enrollment Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 9:20 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You can find the latest hours online.

Tip: TSA PreCheck can be very useful for travelers who regularly depart from LAS, as it is among the top 5 US airports with the longest average security wait times.
