States That Have Concealed Carry – The state decides to whom to issue a concealed carry permit if a resident fills out an application and meets the requirements. Some states issue permits only to residents, while others issue permits to non-residents, such as military personnel.

The state issues a concealed carry permit to any person who applies and meets the requirements. Some states issue permits only to residents, while others issue permits to some or all non-residents.

Note that the “issuing” state may not require a permit, making it a “constitutional” state as well. If a state issues a permit, that state is classified as the first issuer of the permit. As of April 14, 2022, Vermont will be the only state that has never issued a permit.

In most constitutional states, permits are issued based on application and compliance for reciprocity (concealed carry in other states) or other reasons. If a state is listed as “no permit” and “residents only”, that state will only issue permits to residents, but non-residents may carry without a permit.

We do not track concealed weapon permit reciprocity (the ability to carry in a country other than the country of residence). Therefore, some non-residents may be concealed in states that only issue permits to residents if the state does not require a permit. We also don’t track shared permissions temporarily.

Non-residents with a valid permit from another state, active duty members of the Mississippi military or retired law enforcement officers who are permanent residents of the state.

Part-time residents or anyone who mainly works or has their main place of business in the state.

Full-time active duty military in North Dakota and are not residents if they have a concealed carry permit from their home state that must be valid in North Dakota.

Adults who have been residents for at least 30 days and are not prohibited from owning a firearm by state or federal law, and are non-residents who have a valid concealed carry permit from the state honored by North Dakota.

To obtain a license in Pennsylvania, non-residents must already have a permit to carry in their home state.

Non-residents who have a permit from their home country can apply for a permit through local law enforcement.

Which States Have Permitless Carry Gun Laws?

Non-residents may apply for a permit if they regularly work in the state and have a valid concealed carry permit in their home state. They can only be claimed after six months of employment and then up to six months after the first six months of employment.

Non-residents who are at least 21 years old and have a home country permit can also apply for a permit.

If you’re traveling across state lines, Florida’s CCW reciprocity means you can carry a gun in certain states, but there are some important details to keep in mind.

Florida Statutes Section 790.015 allows Florida to recognize a concealed handgun permit issued by another state if that other state agrees to recognize Florida’s concealed handgun permit.

Florida has reciprocity agreements with the states listed below. Florida concealed handgun permits are valid in all of these states, and concealed handgun permits issued to residents of those states are valid in Florida; exceptions are noted.

Red states are anti-American states. This is the state with the strictest gun laws in the country and CCW Florida has no reciprocity. Personally, I would avoid the red state entirely. You should know all the gun laws there are before you enter a red state, it’s a big deal.

The latest list of states where you can legally carry a firearm with a concealed carry permit in Florida. This week, Florida became the 26th US state to pass a law allowing concealed carry without a permit. in favor of countries that allow this practice. It’s still 25 vs if it’s open carry without a permit. 25 states, as Florida remains one of the few places in the country where open carry is prohibited. This creates a very unusual combination of laws when a country tends to have less strict gun laws. The change will take effect on July 1.
