First Florida Credit Union Online Banking – Jacksonville, Fla. – Two longtime Jacksonville-based credit unions have announced plans to join forces to create a bigger, stronger organization with about 60,000 members across Florida. Florida Credit Union (FFCU), originally founded in 1950, and Jacksonville Post & Professional Credit Union (JPPCU), founded in 1929, recently signed a “merger” agreement. The proposed merger will bring 2,600 new members to FFCU while helping the credit union achieve its strategic goals, said FFCU President and CEO Brent Lister.
“The proposed merger represents two financially sound institutions with similar philosophies to strengthen in one of our nation’s key markets,” Lister said. “The merger will enhance the products and services available to JPPCU members, while helping FFCU expand its membership to include the postal and other professional industries.”

Headquartered in the Arlington area, JPPCU has more than 2,600 members and approximately $47 million in assets.
