DUBUQUE – Seventy-five years ago in 1948, 10 Dubuque Packing Co. Each employee paid $5 to form a credit union, using the six letters of the company’s name to create what is now known as Dupaco Community Credit Union.

Dupaco is certified as a financial institution for community development and has approximately 700 employees. The 158,000 members live in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and 28 other countries, Dupaco President and CEO Joe Hearn said in a statement.
