Seven of the nine people killed in a multi-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas on Sunday were family members, four children and three adults, police and family members said.
The other two people killed were in a Dodge Challenger that ran a red light Saturday afternoon and flew more than 100 miles north on Commerce Street, where it intersects Cheyenne Avenue at 35 mph. At least four people in different vehicles were injured, police said.

Acting North Las Vegas Police Chief Jacqueline Gravatt said, “Our deepest condolences go out to the families and everyone involved in this horrific incident. It affects us as a community, as a valley and as a nation,” he said.
As of Sunday evening, the Clark County Coroner’s Office had identified eight of the nine people who died in the crash. Fernando Joshua Mejia, 5, in a Toyota Sienna; Adrian Zakaria, 10; Lluvia Daylen Zakaria, 13; Brian Axel Zakaria, 15; Gabriel Mejia-Barrera, 23; David Mejia-Barrera, 25; and Jose Zacaria-Caldera, 35. All are from North Las Vegas.
The driver of the Challenger is Gary Dean Robinson, 59, of North Las Vegas. The Challenger’s occupants had not been identified late Sunday.

Driver In Nevada Crash That Killed 9 Had History Of Speeding
After the Challenger, he crashed into a van with a 50-year-old passenger at 3 a.m. Saturday when the Sienna collided with a white Ford Fusion driven by a 31-year-old woman, police said. The three vehicles were headed north and westbound in Cheyenne when they collided with a 23-year-old Chevrolet Malibu and a 20-year-old white Hyundai 39. – Two 51-year-old men were driving in a white Mercedes car.
A woman who started a GoFundMe page on Sunday said a relative was in one of the cars involved in the crash.
“There is no pain like losing all your children,” wrote Erlinda Zakaria. – I am asking you to help me collect money to say goodbye to them.
Pablo Ramirez tearfully said the two minors in the van were his children.

He said the family members did not see the bodies of the deceased as they were not allowed to approach them on Saturday. He added that he would go to the funeral home on Sunday evening and expect “mucho gasto” or a lot of funeral expenses.
“Yesterday, our community lost an unprecedented life. “Whenever something happens in the community, we really care, and it takes heart.”
On Sunday afternoon, teenagers Nick Gomez and Eric Ramos returned with candles and teddy bears as friends of Brian Zacharias.
In a vacant lot nearby, a fence has been partially torn down, and several candles have been placed under an intersection sign. The intersection is used by two-way vehicles, so most of the debris has been cleared.

That evening, four other classmates of Brian Zacharias held flowers and candles at a small party near the crash site. Sherlyn Koss, Alexis Lopez, Mikey Rodriguez and Sammy Melendez called him “fun and outgoing.” They “made a scandal” in a good way.
Zachariah was a sophomore at Rancho High School, and he was an inspiration, they said. He worked hard and was an inspiration to others. When Kos found out about the accident, Zakaria liked to joke, so at first he thought it was a prank.
