Southern University Baton Rouge officially announced today that first-time freshman enrollment increased 7 percent to 1,328 students. This is the second year the university has seen a significant increase in freshmen enrollment, even surpassing the 20% increase seen in the fall 2017 semester.

Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) accepts admission to individuals who are graduates of a nationally accredited high school, individuals who have earned a GED degree, or individuals who are eight (18) years of age or older. High school students who are 16 years of age or older are eligible for concurrent admission, which allows them to enroll in up to two higher education courses concurrently with their high school courses.
The BRCC Bears are comprised of three athletic teams representing Baton Rouge Community College in intercollegiate sports including baseball, women’s basketball and women’s basketball. The Bears compete in Section 23 of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 1. The Bears athletic teams are members of the Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference.
