My client asked if I could paint in a day I had never seen before! Through emulation, we incorporated both photos to combine golf course trees and the sun into bold images. With an attractive sky.
The mural is 30 “x 40” high. My client knows where he wants it to show before I start drawing. We found a canvas size that looks like we made it to fit her home + created a painting that anticipates the beauty of time and recreates memories that will last forever!
Usually the custom painting is finished with a black frame and ready to hang. If desired, Jenna can help you choose the choice of frame and point you in the right direction to get your own painting professional.

The proposed pedestrian bridge in West Des Moines will connect Racoon River Park and Walnut Woods State Park. Very excited.
This is a larger version of my last drawing. An hour later, so the pedestrians changed!
Pinot’s Palette Des Moines, Iowa
I consider the 10th and the locusts in the center of Des Moines my neighborhood because it is three blocks from my studio. There is a decent Italian restaurant in the building you are looking at, along with the Temple Theater venue for live events. Across the road to the west is the Starbucks, which is also convenient for coffee and meetings.
This is likely my last signed painting in 2021. Small 11 × 14 house commission. Next year, I intend to turn a corner, create a new direction in my work painting. Keep it up and happy new year!
That was the result of a two-hour outdoor tour of Des Moines. Although not finished, I was reluctant to repaint it so it would not lose its freshness.
To quote and borrow the phrase from baseball, “I saw the ball so well today,” I had 10,000 hours invested in getting to where I could create the sky and the palette. If you leave in the morning and look at the colors of the atmosphere, you will immediately see that from the six colors of the sky (primary, secondary, both Three) Yes. Follow me: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. From bottom to top. It’s so much fun drawing. Enjoy
Iowa Artists Work Together To Paint New Mural Overlooking Lauridsen Skatepark
I started driving around Iowa more often, looking for a special place to paint in the morning or evening. This is a barn east of Adel, Iowa, which I found interesting to draw. However, light is what I am looking for.
Try to line up in the sky. This is a dangerous thing we see all the time here in Iowa.
This year is a year of transition. One of the biggest changes in my orbit was going out and painting in the open. This is a little hour-long drawing to start stretching the plein-air muscles.
Three nights of Des Moines paint with Mainframe Studios Salmagundi and Polk County Conservation begin at Lauridsen Skate Park downtown. This is my entry since Friday night.
Des Moines’ Court Avenue Mural Of Iowa’s ‘bachelor’ Replaced By New Art ‘love Blooms’
I was asked to draw this guy as a gift and just wanted to see some of the photos he was looking at the camera. I decided on it being black and white so I had to create a color palette. Enjoy the results.
I drew this scene a week ago in 12 × 12. This is a larger version. I enjoy the sky and clouds from this beautiful spot during the rain in the east.
This is a work in progress on a bridge spanning Lake Greys’ in Des Moines, Iowa. Currently being tackled a bit so I can add the remaining bridge and rail structures. Pay attention to the finish.
Clouds have inspired me recently and there are all colors in the sky. Ultramarine, Cerulean, Viridian, Yellow Ocher, and Alizarin were all used, albeit heavily painted with Titanium White. This except Burnt Umber is my entire palette.
