Personal Trainers In Brownsville Texas – It’s the kind of environment Rodney McClanahan was looking for when he moved the Hardknox Strength & Performance Club across town to Brownsville. He seems to have succeeded.
The new 10,000 square meter location off Pablo Kissel Blvd. near Rana Mall doubles the old club on Soldier Street in west Brownsville, where McClanahan grew up. The original Hardknox has a reputation for being soft and sweaty. It had no air conditioning and a large door that opened for the weather.

More than 500 team members don’t want to lose that feeling when they move to a new location. McClanahan compliments him by saying the new building looks like a barn. The large bay doors offer a great view of “the most powerful gym in Brownsville.”

McClanahan and his wife, Cassandra, searched throughout Brownsville for years to find the right location for the move they knew was inevitable as the club grew. They will be accompanied by a new building built to their specifications near the corner of Pablo Kissel and Galeno Crossing on one of Brownsville’s most successful thoroughfares.
“It looks new, but it still feels old,” McClanahan said. “We still have an external/internal influence. We don’t want to change the environment.”
Check-in date was February 3rd. It’s been four days full of suspense and he’s moved from the popular west side of Brownsville, near his alma mater, Pace High School, to a larger part of town with new shops and restaurants – and then the energy of the gym.
McClanahan has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in exercise science. He began dreaming of his own gym at age 10, accompanying his father to weightlifting classes at Tito’s Gym on Boca Chico Boulevard in Brownsville. Hardnox’s equipment design and scales emphasize McClanahan’s vision of strength management training. It consists of deadlifts, bench presses and squats.

The new facility includes plenty of cardio equipment and what McClanahan calls a “rack” for training athletes and professional weightlifters. The words may sound intimidating, but he stresses that the gym is open to anyone who wants to get fit and strong. His presence also shows this quality. McClanahan founded Cohesion and Unity Gym, where he and his seven trainers hold hour-long sessions from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“Moving here doesn’t change who we are or what we do,” he said. “We’re not a gym, we’re from here. We’re talking about communities and families here.”
Walking into the new gym, McClanahan greeted each team member by name with a handshake and excitement. Nearby, afternoon tea starts in the gymnasium. 1990s music is playing. That’s the Hardknox vibe.
“It’s amazing to be here and achieve this goal,” Cassandra McClanahan said. “What makes it even more special is achieving this goal of always helping our community.”

This area of Brooklyn has great gyms, and the central location offers more options. But if you need help, I’ve rounded up the 5 best gyms in Brownsville here.
Yes, there is a gym for everyone. But that’s not why I chose them! Find out why below, along with the pros, cons, and costs of membership at each gym — everything you need to know before parting with your cash.
Brownsville, New York has a series of gyms, a CrossFit gym, and a large fitness and recreation center. And because of its central location in Brooklyn, there is a great selection of gyms near Brownville for all types of fitness and needs.

The Brownsville Recreation Center is a popular attraction in the area. And it’s not just a fitness center with exercise, group classes and a swimming pool, but it’s also a sports and community center thanks to the indoor courts and the stadium.
This gym is perfect if you want more than just a workout. It has a large swimming pool, basketball court and playground, and a group exercise program that includes cardio, strength camp, juice dance and aerobics, pi-yo (Pilates and yoga), including sit and pull.
So it’s good for your overall health, especially if you exercise regularly or are a senior citizen. Also, it’s local, which is great if you live in Brownsville. And because it doubles as an entertainment center, it also hosts regular events to help you feel a part of the Brownsville community.
Membership for adults (25-61) is $150 for 1 year or $75 for 6 months. Seniors (61+) can get one year for $25. Fitness facilities, pool access, group exercise classes and other facilities are included.

So there are no monthly memberships, but the good news is that membership gives you access to all NYC Parks – and there are places to visit in Brooklyn and Queens.
Some will not like that it is a park, which can mean lots of people and noise. This gym has only basic machines and equipment, and the number of classes is limited, averaging about 3 classes per day.
And of course, no member. However, it is cheap, and 6-month memberships are not cheap, despite the short term.
If you like to swim and only need basic equipment for exercise and group classes, this place is cheap, easy and suitable to feel part of the place. But if you want better gyms, more activities and don’t want “active” community centers, I’d give it a miss.
Crunch Fitness North Brownsville
Some people need a place to start and don’t want to spend a lot of money on gym memberships. That’s what Planet Fitness is good for. This location is also located in the heart of Brownsville, with a class schedule that offers more classes than any other Planet Fitness gym!
Planet Fitness Rockaway Ave has all the exercise machines and fitness equipment you need. So whether you want to lose weight, build muscle or feel like you’re in the gym, this is a great place to go without being judged because most of the members are new. or they are normal.
The big thing here is the extra classes (up to 10 days a week: upper/lower body, back, HIIT, circuit and strength) that are better than most PF gyms. Open 24 hours 4 days a week, and there are many gyms in Brooklyn and Queens when you get a PF Black Card!
You have two options: $ 10 per month (Personal Membership) to visit a Planet Fitness gym or $ 24.99 per month (PF Black Card) to visit any location with access to all equipment such as massage chairs and solarium.

Standard membership comes with a 1-year contract and a membership fee of $49, however, unlike the PF Black Card, there is no commitment (easy to cancel).
Although there are many daily classes, they are small groups (up to 5 people), so the number of places is limited. Planet Fitness is also a popular budget gym, so the quality of the equipment is average and the gyms can get crowded.
If you’re a beginner or seasoned exerciser who just needs a budget-friendly workout, PF Rockaway Ave is a great choice if you’re looking to join a club. But if you’re looking for the best exercise equipment and have a big budget to work with, consider other options first.
Looking for an affordable gym but don’t want to work out? Crunch Fitness offers low-cost basic memberships that don’t come with a contract. Like Planet Fitness, Crunch offers all the basics, but with better strength training and exercise equipment.

This area also has a solarium and hydromassage, as well as a large studio. And classes include yoga, HIIT, abs, zumba, chisel, slow burn to name a few – up to 8 classes a day. The best part? Membership is free and comes with no obligation.
