I am a certified dog trainer and have been running my own dog training and pet grooming business for about ten years. I also worked as a manager at another local boarding house for three years. I enjoy watching pets and people interact and celebrating the bond between people and pets. I enjoy educating clients and employees about pet behavior and why our pets do certain things. I love testing the temperament of new dogs and it fills my heart with joy when I see a group of dogs playing happily together. I enjoy spending my free time with my family, three dogs and eight cats.

Hello, my name is Megan Smith and I am a pet trainer in the Stone Oak location. I have been working at Pet Paradise since September 2022. I have worked at other pet facilities, but Petland is by far the best. I have always enjoyed being around animals and was looking for a career that I would enjoy. Pet Paradise gave me the opportunity to become a K9 behaviorist. I have a sweet, energetic 2 year old Chihuahua named Owen. Owen comes to work with me every day and enjoys his time at camp.

I can always confidently say that I always have company between my puppies (Geronimo, Olivia, Pepperoni and McCom), my two bunnies (Bunnykin Skywalker and Malatoboon) and my beautiful wife. My partner and I love to take our pups for walks in our hometowns like Enchanted Rock or Lost Maple. But when I’m not hanging out with my family, I’m busy with work, and I’m lucky that I still feel that same feeling of happiness. There is something about the beauty industry that has always interested me. When I was a little girl, I remember being glued to the window and watching stylists work their magic and create beautiful dogs. After 8 years in the industry, I know I have chosen the right path for my career. I received the 2021 Top Paw Award for managing and leading a salon team for two years at my previous company. When an amazing opportunity opened up for me at Pet Haven, I said goodbye to my team, knowing full well what they had learned as we worked together on how to maintain the success of their salon without my leadership. I’m looking forward to Petland and new exciting challenges.
