Wolfe said there have been no reports of related identity theft since Feb. 8, but out of an abundance of caution, all affected individuals, including employees and vendors, are being notified.

The clinic “was the target of a deliberate cyber attack involving an unauthorized third party who attempted to access the company’s computer network and subsequently blocked access to some of its systems,” according to the press release.

Wolf said he responded as soon as he discovered the incident. They have started an investigation with the help of IT experts and forensics.

“At the Wolf Clinic, we do not deal with criminals,” said Chief Financial Officer Luke Bland. “We have strong support. We have not lost any patient information and simply paying the ransom would not put the clinic or our patients in a better position.”

“Due to the complexity and scale of the identified cyber attacks, the full extent of potentially impacted data may not be fully understood until May 28, 2021,” it added.
