Dogs For Adoption Des Moines Ia
Nova, true to its name, embodies the spirit of a new beginning. Nova’s flexible and loving journey began over a year ago when she entered the shelter as a homeless, pregnant woman at risk of euthanasia. But fate had better plans for her and her 8 precious children. They were rescued, cared for and found loving homes, just like Nova. Unfortunately, he was returned due to problems with the other dog. Nova is again looking for a forever family.
Nearly 100 Dogs Rescued From Puppy Mill
Nova is house trained, crate trained and gets along great with children. Playful, food motivated, loves toys and loves to fly around the yard. But Nova’s favorite feature? His unwavering delicacy. Whether she’s snuggling on the couch, sleeping next to you in bed, or happily munching on a nearby bone, Nova is happiest when she’s next to you and soaking up all the love she has to offer.
Nova does well with dogs of all sizes, sexes and ages when introduced slowly and correctly. In the past he got along well with cats, rabbits, birds and even a pet pig. Nova is now looking for someone special – a confident caregiver with breeding experience who can give her solid and consistent advice to help her develop. He needs an owner who will be committed to continuing his training and working with him on appropriate tortures with dogs in public places. Nova’s leash has shown irritability/reactivity but can be fixed/directed by an experienced handler.
With the right combination, Nova will be the loyal and loving companion you’ve been looking for. Are you ready to welcome Nova into your life and go on a wonderful new adventure together? He is ready to charm your heart and let the light of his love illuminate your world! He was born in 2020 and lives in a foster home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Founded in 1986 outside of Carlisle, Iowa, Animal Lifeline of Iowa (ALI) is a no-kill special needs animal shelter in central Iowa, celebrating nearly 40 years of service to Des Moines and all of Iowa. We rescue injured, disabled, seriously ill, abused, pregnant, nursing mothers, as well as orphaned cats and dogs in need of bottle feeding. We rehabilitate animals that are at higher risk of euthanasia in a traditional shelter environment and then adopt them to loving forever homes. Animals are not euthanized because they stay in the shelter for a certain period of time.
Dog Rescues In Iowa To Adopt From
Animal Lifeline is a no-kill animal shelter that reduces the number of special needs dogs and cats euthanized through fostering, temporary shelter and long-term positive animal management.
If you have an animal that you think meets our adoption criteria, please call the shelter and ask if we can help. We are a very small shelter and will accept animals whenever possible and in space.
