District 20 Colorado Springs Map – The latest redistricting proposals for how to draw Colorado’s legislative districts would keep Democrats in the House and Senate and redistribute some of the existing districts, even if the map is not yet complete.
Over the past few months, commissioners have heard input from people across the state on preliminary maps for Colorado’s Senate and House districts. Feedback from these sessions has been recorded for this update.
District 20 Colorado Springs Map
El Paso County currently has eight state houses. This will remain the case under the updated proposal. However, there may be some changes in terms of competitiveness across regions.
Proposal For Colorado’s New Congressional Districts Released
If you look at the map, some districts are changing compared to the current changes.
For example, under this map, Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City would be moved into one district (House District 20) of Colorado Springs, which is mostly to the west. Today, Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City are part of the district that extends from downtown Colorado Springs. The district is represented by Democrat Mark Snyder, who received 50% of the vote in the November election.
The proposed 20th House District would give Republicans a slight edge with about nine percent of the vote. Based on information provided by a neutral employee.
The most competitive district in the proposed plan for El Paso County is the 16th House District. The center of the district’s drawing is north-central Colorado Springs and the neighborhoods near the University of Colorado Springs.

If the state map shows a balanced district, if that’s what the commissioners want to accept, it shows very little distance.
A notable change from the previous map published by the state includes southeast Colorado Springs. The original map placed the southeast part of Colorado Springs in the southwest part of the city. The latest map, according to nonpartisan officials, points to the Harrison School District 2.
It’s a similar story for the Colorado Springs senate district. State data is provided for El Paso County, a competitive district (showing a Democratic vote, but only 0.3%). The district is represented by incumbent Sen. Pete Lee, which extends to the southeast portion of Colorado Springs.
Senate District 12 provides additional competition and is supported by 3.6% Republicans, making it a swing district, as shown in this updated map.
Academy School District No. 20
Housing districts are similar to current districts under this new proposal. There are some minor changes that divide parts of the pueblo into more rural districts and other parts of the city into rural areas of the county.
The biggest change is to the state’s Senate map, where the new proposal would combine the entire district into one Senate district, making it one district with a 5.1 percent advantage for Democratic voters.
