Ironhorse Motorcycle Lawyers – He recently rode cross-country to Sturgis, taking incredible photos to share with us during his multi-day trip, detailing his time on the road, his stops, and some of the challenges.

At 6am on August 6th – bright and early – Andy strapped on his Harley Ultra Limited and headed to St. Louis to his friends who expected him to arrive in Sturgis the next day.

He planned his route on state roads through Missouri, skipping Highway 70 and taking 29 St. instead. Joseph, MO north of Iowa and into South Dakota, heading west through Sioux Falls to Highway 90.

Eight hundred miles and 14 hours later, he pulled into Chamberlain, South Dakota and stayed at the Bridge Motel.

The next morning Andy rode in Badlands National Park, ran into other bikers and got some great photos of the moment! In the afternoon, he drove to the Rapid City Harley-Davidson dealership and picked up tickets and sound cards.

Andy then drove to Full Throttle where a few of his friends – Todd, Vic, Robert, Wes, David, Ron and Chas – had saved him a bar stool that night.

They drove to Sturgis, ate dinner at the Iron Horse, wandered around town until they found a good spot under a soda tent and soaked up the place for hours.

After calling it a night, they headed west into the cool of the country evening to the house they rented in Spearfish, where they slept soundly. They didn’t expect to encounter 40 mph gusts with visibility in the 90s near Billings, MT. To meet the challenge in the air, they had to lean their bike about 10 degrees in the air.

Within ten miles they were fighting the wind and were able to complete the remaining 35 miles to Billings.

In the morning Andy and the group headed south from Billings on the Beartooth Highway over Beartooth Pass and stopped at Red Lodge for fuel. He had never heard of Beartooth, but it was probably the best part of his trip! The view over the mountains is incredible. Most of the cyclists he meets in and out of Sturgis say the same thing.

They traveled south to Yellowstone Park, spent three days through Yellowstone and camped near the north entrance in Gardiner, MT. There is no better way to see Yellowstone than by bike!

After 3 amazing days in Yellowstone, the crew left the park’s south entrance and entered Grand Teton. They spent a few hours there and then headed to Jackson Hole, W.Y. They say goodbye to team member Todd as he begins his journey to Birmingham, AL.

Vic and Andy drove south through the Green River Valley and spent the night in Rock Springs, WY. During that time, Vick also broke up and traveled through Oklahoma and Arkansas back home to Cullman, AL.

Todd and Vic were great to hang out with, and thanks for the invite Andy! Andy decided to stop at Dinosaur to take a picture of his grandson, heading west over the volcano to Utah and then Colorado. He headed east over the mountains to Steamboat, CO.

Eventually Andy returned home on Highway 80 through Wyoming, Nebraska and Missouri. Boy those bugs were big in Wyoming, he just put a hole in the windshield! After 8 days, 3450 miles and beautiful views, he will never forget this trip. But for Andy, the best sight of the whole trip was when he walked into the house and saw his beautiful wife Lisa waiting for him after a long ride in the helicopter (pictured in India). Andy hopes to ride with him on the next trip! Do you like this book? You can publish your book online for free in minutes! Create your own flipbook
